Post-Piercing
-
Aftercare instructions are available here.
-
DO:
Be patient and keep cleaning your piercing according to your specific aftercare instructions every day until healed.
Remember, being cautious and following our aftercare instructions is the best way to avoid infection—this is an open wound that is healing. Most issues can be avoided if you follow our aftercare instructions diligently.
If your piercing starts feeling loose or if you have any issues, book a consult appointment to check on healing. Your piercer will troubleshoot and offer solutions.
Book your downsizing appointment if you have been instructed. Having a proper fit once healed will help avoid irritation from snagging.
DON’T
Try to minimize any activities that involve excessive sweating (eg. exercise), but if you do, shower or clean your wound directly afterwards.
Avoid taking your jewellery out to avoid the hole closing.
Avoid swimming for at least 3 months after piercing.
Your piercer is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to healing your new piercing and will provide full aftercare instructions at your appointment to help set you up for success!
-
We strongly recommend that clients avoid water-related activities, including spray/waterparks, swimming in pools, beaches, or hot tubs, for at least 3 months after receiving a new piercing.
Water exposure can increase the risk of infection and delay the healing process. If you have any plans involving water activities, please consider scheduling your piercing for a time when you can avoid such exposure to ensure proper healing. -
Playing team or contact sports with a healing piercing carries additional risks, including the potential for injury or irritation. We do not recommend removing jewellery from a healing piercing as it can compromise the healing process. If the you or your child participates in sports or physical activities, it’s best to book the piercing appointment during a period when you can allow the piercing to heal completely without interference. Consider postponing your appointment to a more suitable time to ensure proper healing and minimize risks.
Jewellery & Products
-
We prioritize safety, quality, and ethical standards. That's why we exclusively carry jewellery made from either Certified Implant Grade Titanium (Nickel-free) and 14-karat or 18-karat gold.
We partner with industry-leading manufacturers who specialize in handcrafted body jewellery, made by expert artisans in North America. This ensures meticulous attention to detail and adherence to the highest ethical standards.
All of our jewellery features either threadless or internally threaded designs, which provide the most secure and comfortable fit for body piercings.
Our selection includes an expansive selection of internally-threaded barbells, captive rings, seam rings, hinged-rings, and threadless ends and posts. -
At Rose Gold, we ♡ threadless jewellery!
Threadless jewellery is considered to be one of the most secure and easiest types of jewelry to use and wear. No threads at all make this style safe for insertion and with proper use, less likely to come apart and therefore become lost.
Each threadless attachment has a straight pin on the back, the piercer then creates a small bend in the pin, this then causes the pin to lock into place when it’s pressed into the threadless stud (aka labret post,) or barbell shaft.
Threadless jewellery also allows for greater customization, since endless mix and match options are available!
-
No. It is against Canadian Federal Health Guidelines for us to use jewellery purchased from outside our studio.
